Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. After receiving Botox, you can carry on with your day as usual but following aftercare instructions can ensure optimal results and minimize complications: No makeup on the day after treatment. Avoid Rubbing or Massaging: Do not rub or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours, as this can cause the toxin to spread to unintended areas. Stay Upright: Avoid lying down or bending over for about 4 hours after the treatment to prevent the Botox from migrating. Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Avoid intense physical activity for 24-48 hours after treatment. No Heat Exposure: Stay away from saunas, hot tubs, or intense heat for at least 24 hours. Avoid Alcohol Or Anti-inflammatory Pain Medication (NSAIDS or aspirin): Refrain from consuming alcohol or taking NSAIDS or aspirin for 24 hours before and after the procedure, as it can increase the risk of bruising. Avoid Skincare Procedures: Avoid facials, chemical peels, or other skin treatments on same areas for 1-2 weeks.
