Flat Nose/Lower Nasal Root

What is Flat Nose Bridge/Low Nasal Root?

A flat nose bridge or low nasal root refers to a nose shape where the bridge of the nose is relatively low, lacking significant height or projection. This can make the nose appear broader and flatter, especially from the side profile. The nasal root is the upper part of the nose near the forehead, and when it has reduced height, it contributes to a flat appearance of the nose bridge.

Causes of Flat Nose/Low Nasal Root:

  • Genetics: The shape and structure of the nose are often inherited, and a low nasal root is more common in certain ethnic groups, such as East Asian, African, and Indigenous populations.

  • Developmental Factors: Some people may have underdeveloped nasal bones or cartilage, contributing to a flatter appearance.

  • Trauma or Injury: Nose injuries during childhood, when facial bones are still developing, can also result in a low nasal bridge.

  • Medical Conditions: Conditions like cleft palate or certain genetic syndromes can sometimes include a low nasal root among their features.

Symptoms of Flat Nose/Low Nasal Root

  • Lack Definition: The low bridge can make the nose look less defined from the side, with a less prominent profile.

  • Broader or Flatter Appearance: The nose may look wider, as the bridge lacks projection.

  • Influence Aesthetic Preferences: Some individuals may seek treatment to enhance the definition of their nasal profile for aesthetic reasons.

Flat Nose/Low Nasal Root Treatment Option:

Option 1: Teosyal RHA 4 is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is effective for adding volume, structure, and contour to areas that need more definition with a natural-looking enhancement that can help balance facial features. The use of dermal filler for this kind of nose job (non-surgical rhinoplasty) benefits are:

  1. Building Height and Projection: Teosyal RHA4 can be injected along the nasal bridge to lift and add height, giving a more defined look to the nose and addressing the low nasal root. This added height can make the nose look slimmer and more balanced with other facial features.

  2. Sculpting and Shaping: The filler can be carefully injected to add structure and contour to specific areas, allowing for a straighter and more refined appearance without surgery. This is often done along the nasal dorsum (bridge) and tip, creating a more prominent profile.

  3. Immediate Results with Minimal Downtime: One of the major advantage of using fillers like Teosyal RHA 4 is that the results are immediate, with little to no downtime. Patients can see an instant improvement in their nose shape with the 15-minute treatment, which lasts for 15-18 months.

  4. Customizable and Reversible: Teosyal RHA4 allows for precise customization, giving patients control over how much definition and height they would like to add. Additionally, it can be dissolved if needed as it is a hyaluronic acid filler.
